Study on heat transfer performance of fin-and-tube heat exchanger with elliptical fins

In the present work, three-dimensional numerical analysis was carried out for thermo-fluid of annular fin-and-tube heat exchangers (AFTHE) with circular fins and elliptical having varying Reynolds number (Re) changed from 4000 to 9000. The effects angle attack (?) ratio long diameter short (LDR) on transfer characteristics flow structures were studied analyzed in inline arrangement tubes. thermo-hydraulic performance criteria which include Nusselt (Nu), friction factor (f), London area goodness (JF) also compared. results showed that AFTHE better than fins, except an ? 90°. JF when value 0°, optimal, improved by 42.08 % based fins. When proportional LDR, where LDR 1.5 43.52 And well line entropy generation.
